Our topic for learning is:
Plant nutrition and reproduction.
Get ready for a term full of growing, exploring and discovery! During our Plant Nutrition and Reproduction project, we’ll investigate the different parts of flowering plants and discover how roots, stems, leaves and flowers each have an important job. We’ll examine fibrous roots and taproots, explore how water and nutrients travel through a plant, and learn how flowers are pollinated and seeds are formed and dispersed. On our exciting trip, we’ll have the opportunity to observe plants closely and ask scientific questions. Back at school, we’ll plant and care for our own flowers in the garden and around the school yard, watching them change as they grow. We’ll also explore the life cycle of a flowering plant and use our new knowledge to write an explanation of how a flower grows. By the end of the project, we’ll be budding plant experts, ready to share everything we have discovered!
