This week in Year 3 we have been

  • making changes to the Nail Soup story
  • planning and writing a new story
  • learning about co-ordinates and finding things on a map
  • making a class map to learn about co-ordinates
  • drawing a map of Egypt and labeling with places and features
  • completing a scavenger hunt about Egypt in the park
  • completing our Egyptian headdresses, necklaces and cuffs
  • learning an Egyptian dance

Well done Year 3! We won the Attendance Award for September and October! Keep it up! 

                             This term our topic is called Walk Like an Egyptian

During the term we will be learning all about 

  • Where is Egypt on a world map
  • The importance of the River Nile
  • Geography - weather, people and important places
  • The pyramids
  • Important people - past and present
  • Art, culture music and dance.

This term we will be

  • looking at the features of a recount and writing a letter 
  • using capital letters and full stops independently
  • using the "ed" ending to show the past tense
  • developing our understanding of 100s 10s and units
  • counting, adding and subtracting within 100
  • revising our 2,5,and 10 times tables using TT rockstars
  • investigating the organs of our body and how we can keep healthy
  • talking and writing about ourselves in welsh.
  • writing about a visit in welsh.
