Our Community
This topic will have a History focus - looking at how our community was affected by World War 2 and how our community has changed over the years.
We will be learning
- why the war started
- the countries that were involved
- how it effected everyday life- evacuation, rationing, air raid shelters
We will also be learning
- how to write instructions
- order numbers to 100, 1000
- how to use place value- hundreds , tens and units,
- to practice out times tables
- write a recount based on the World War 2 story - The Lion and the Unicorn
- songs from the WW2 period
- to ask questions to find out information from people who lived through the war
- to design posters
